Uptown Dallas, TX
Monday, May 3, 12:00AM

Uptown Dallas, Inc is committed to keeping our community beautiful, safe and informed.  To achieve our vision of being the best place in Dallas to live, work and play we are launching a Block Captain program.  We are in need of volunteers who would like to serve their community by becoming neighborhood leaders on your block, observing issues and reporting them directly to Uptown Dallas, Inc or Dallas Police Department (DPD).  This is an easy, yet instrumental way to keep Uptown attractive and secure.

Uptown Dallas is working hard in cooperation with the DPD to make Uptown the most beautiful and safe area in Dallas.  Now that the security cameras are installed on McKinney Avenue, we are taking the next step to ensure the safety of all of our residents and friends in Uptown by implementing a Block Captain program.

Crime is directly related to property maintenance.  We need Block Captains who will help identify conditions that lead to crime such as code violations, dark street lights, and suspicious persons.  You will report these matters when you see them to Uptown Dallas and DPD on an ongoing basis.  We will provide a training program and a simple handbook that will help you understand what to look for, and give you three easy ways to contact us to report problems.  Uptown Dallas will work toward the solution of the reported issues—we just need a few folks to help us be the eyes and ears of Uptown.  Continued maintenance and beautification of our Uptown boundaries requires the ongoing help of the community.

If you are interested in volunteering, please register on our website www.UptownDallas.net and click on the make a report link.  You may also send an email to Sandra@UptownDallas.net  with your contact information including your street address (which represents the block you agree to oversee).  If you are not interested in volunteering, but know someone who might be willing to help with this effort, please respond with their name and contact information, or forward this email.
